INFLUENCE OF 155 mm HOWITZER’S MUZZLE BRAKE ON RECOIL SYSTEM WORK IN MATTER OF SHOOTING WITH SHOT IMITATOR AMMUNITION
Abstract
Following paper focus on disabling muzzle brake to increase kinetic energy of recoil assembly. In 155 mm howitzer increasing mass of projectile cause danger for surroundings. Increasing mass of proppelants in not a wise option. The imitator should have to imitate a real shot with the same propellant conditions as live ammunition. The paper presents influence of muzzle brake on breech force, and possibility of disabling muzzle brake during shots with imitated ammunition. It also contains information observed during shooting tests.
