STUDY ON THE FORMATION BEHAVIOR OF SILVER-COPPER ALLOY SHAPE CHARGE JET
Abstract
Silver-copper alloy is a metal material with high density and excellent ductility. These performances make it very suitable for a liner material. This study investigates the characteristics of shaped charge jet formations with a silver-copper alloy liner, by experimental and numerical methods. Pulse x-ray photographic technology was employed to observe the jet formed by silver-copper alloy shaped charge. The result shows that the silver-copper alloy shaped charge forms a continuous jet. The jet become decondensed and a comet-like tail appears as the jet stretches, which is different from traditional copper jet. The simulated results strongly agree with the experimental results.
