J. Krestan, R. Ridky, S. Rolc, J. Buchar

Abstract

The extensive numerical simulations of the ballistic efficiency of the armours against to the projectile 14.5 mm x 114 API/B32 were performed. The armours were made from the add-on ceramic armour composed from alumina ceramic pellets on a layer of aramid laminate placed on UHSLA steel plate base armour. The projectile striking velocity was chosen to be 911 m/s. The effect of impact position and effect of adhesive properties were investigated. The numerical simulation was performed for both single impact and multihit. Result of numerical simulation were compared with real terminal ballistic experiments.
