ASSESSMENT METHODS FOR DAMAGE TO HYPERSONIC TARGETS UNDER THE EFFECT OF BLAST-FRAGMENTATION AMMUNITION
Abstract
To thoroughly analyze the velocity distribution characteristics of behind-armor debris (BAD) generated by a rod projectile during oblique penetration of a rolled homogeneous armor (RHA) plate, an experiment was conducted using a 220 mm thick RHA plate. Positional and mass data for the BAD were collected. Combined target experiments revealed the velocity attenuation patterns of tungsten and steel debris under specific target configurations. By back-calculating the velocity of the BAD, the velocity distribution characteristics of the debris in different scattering angle ranges were observed, and a descriptive equation for the velocity distribution of the BAD was fitted.
